How is COVID-19 affecting my international hunters here at Silvertine?
Not sure if travel bans, social distancing or other precautions will allow you to go? What about your financial situation after this is over? Worried about the deposit you put down? What is Silvertine willing to do for you?
Common sense has to prevail first off, so please don't panic and stay safe. I am looking on the optimistic side, and hope it will pass before fall. Please know I am willing to work with my guests, and ask you to work with me in the best interest of everyone. Due to the numerous emails I have had with my guests over the last month, it's time to communicate to all my customers that have hunts booked, or want to book, so I have came up with a plan.
The "60-day" approach.
When we get to that magic "60-days" before your hunt is to begin, we’ll formulate a plan, then execute it.
The first thing we will try and do is move your hunt dates to an alternative date within this calendar year, if we can - great, we’ll move it. If we have to move you to an alternative year, well, we really need to try to avoid alternative years because that puts me in a predicament. That said, if you need to move your dates to an alternative year, I need to retain $1500 of each hunters deposit to help cover my costs, as this needs to be fair to me as well, your outfitter. Given the situation, I can not give refunds for cancellations. Please understand this needs to be give and take, there will be no winners in all this if it continues. Alternate dates might not be exactly what are best for you individually, but understand I am doing my best to accommodate many other guests as well.
All that said, and if you do choose alternative dates, and all this pandemic passes, and I am able to fill your dates with a paying customer, and not end up with an open date, then I will roll 100% your deposit over to the alternative year.
Because the entire international hunting world is on pause right now. I believe this "60-day" approach will allow us time to make a back up plan, and/or make any travel changes. Please don’t panic now, as in another month this could look completely different. I understand the predicament we’re all in, and we need to work together. This is not ideal for anyone, so please know I am willing to work in the best interests of everybody.
Canadian Customers: This is uncharted waters, I’ve been doing this for 30-plus years and I’ve never seen anything like this. International travel is presently still closed, so I have had some cancellations at this point already, so please contact me for some amazing opportunities for those Canadian hunters that are willing to drive to my ranch. Canadian hunters, please remain optimistic, there is “opportunity to fill a void,” and pick up great hunts that someone has had to cancel.
