Cow Elk Hunts

 The smartest animal in these hills is the old lead cow, she will challenge our skills as hunters, and when we harvest one of these prime animals, you will be treated to some phenomenal healthy tasting meat, and there's a lot of it.  

These hunts are limited and sold on a first come first serve basis after October 26 to November  30th.  Average mature cow elk will yield 230lb-270lb carcass. Hunts are conducted out of large enclosed blinds so proper animal selection is possible. This is a RIFLE hunt only.

This hunt is an excellent choice for the meat hunter. As any experienced elk hunter knows, an antler-less elk is by far the best table fare. These hunts have been 100% success. 

These two day hunts are “Fully Outfitted”. You will be staying at our Silvertine Lodge with all modern conveniences and you will have your own private log cabin. You will be provided with excellent home cooked meals and a warm comfortable bed. We provide guides, all transportation during hunt, meals & lodging, care of killed game (field dressing, quartering, skinning, and hanging in our cooler. Not included in the hunt package is the processing of your meat, but we can assist in boning meat out for transport if needed.

We offer two classes of cow elk hunts:
1) Prime Grade A Cow. These dry cows are younger and in excelent body condition. They have abundant fat and will yield prime meat of all cuts for the summers BBQ. They hanging carcass weight will be 250-280lbs.
2) Older Dry Cull Cows: In an attempt to manage my cow elk herd better, I am offering older healthy cows that no longer produce calves, and the meat quality may not be up to the same standard as the younger cows. These cows will show there age, and be 10+ years old and will not have the heavy fat covering as the younger cows. The flavor of the meat will be exceptional, but being an older animal I recommend guests that shoot these cows use them for hamburger or sausage meat .
