"Thanks for the great hunt and the fellowship, you Canadians are the best. You have a wonderful property Steve, a little bit of everything, flats, hills, lakes, creeks, and of course my favorite the "Devilhole" swamps. Beautiful property to hunt, an the game have the advantage, that's what makes it a hunt."
Mr. Redy, Michigan USA

The two greatest passions in my life are my dedication to protecting and conserving habitat on my preserve to the highest standards I can, while maintaining the highest quality health and genetics in my game. The creation of the Silvertine Elk Preserve was born from a very special request from our annual Elk hunting guests, their recommendations, and our efforts have created the ultimate Elk Hunting area. Silvertine encompass 800 acres, has  several creeks and ponds and its own lake we call "Yogi Lake", this is a forested paradise for elk hunters. It is a place where a serious trophy elk hunters can focus on their pursuit of that monster bull, in total solitude and privacy, a place where no one is  around for miles, complete peace and quiet. Just you, your guide, and loads of some of the largest Bull Elk on the planet.

I would like to point out that I breed our own Elk for our guests on the Silvertine Preserve. You will experience a hunt "exactly" like nature intended, herd bulls with harems of cows, satellite bulls jockeying for position during the seasonal changes, bachelor groups of bulls late in the winter months, all happening right before your very eyes. Born and raised on the Preserve, these are real elk, with real instincts, all Fair Chase and at a Fair price!  Only trophy mature, bulls are chosen, based on antler spread, classic tine length, and shape.  All bulls have dark capes, long beards and mature features.

In this area we have erected one large elevated enclosed blinds, large enough for 6 hunters and are fully heated in the winter. The Silvertine Lodge sits in the preserve. You will step right out the door and be hunting, no traveling. The property itself is 100% forested with old growth Poplar, Birch, Pine, Tamarack, and Spruce, with many thickets and  large rolling hills. A typical hunt day will see you and your guide leaving the lodge well before daylight. Depending on the wind direction you will do some still hunting in the late morning, and return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon and evening hunts are typically still hunting or we can use the large blind depending on the guests wishes.

This property is as close to "Fair Chase" hunting as you will ever see in a high fenced environment. There is no "Ringer" or "Canned" areas within the perimeter fence as on some ranches. Every single bull is free roaming in habitat that is exactly what wild elk love. All our elk will grow old, and some of the elk bulls will never be shot and can live their remaining years there and die naturally on this property, never to be killed by our guests. We do our best to harvest only 10 year old plus bulls from the ranch. We offer all our Ranch Bull Elk hunts on this property from 350" up to 450", unless other arrangements have been made with the guest. All our Bison and Yak Hunts are conducted on this ranch unless other arrangements have been made.

PRINCIPALS WE LIVE BY: The first sentence you read on my website was we are "Committed to the conservation of wildlife and our fair chase hunting heritage", this principal is what has been the backbone of my business since 1994. I live by seven conditions that I feel must be met and exceeded:
1)
The hunting property must be FAIR CHASE, and provide natural habitat for the game animal. Abundant escape cover and refuge areas, and allow the animals to elude and evade hunters. The property must have escape cover, rugged terrain or topography, dense thickets or stands of woods that collectively comprise 90% of the property.
2)
Any released animals to be hunted must freely resided on the property on for a reasonable amount of time prior to being hunted.
3)
The animals hunted must be part of a breeding herd that is a resident on the hunting property.
4) I must provide ample and
freely available food and water at all times.
5)
Animals that are to be hunted must exhibit their natural flight/survival instincts, and no zoo animals, exhibited animals, or tame animals are hunted.
6) All meat will be fully
utilize and consumed from all harvested animal.
7) Following all set rules and regulations by the provincial wildlife management agencies as they pertain to hunting preserves.

As one Elk hunting guest called this property "Heaven for the Elk and the Elk Hunter" and it truly is.
