In March 2022, its with great sadness that I inform all whom knew Zeus, that he passed away. Zeus  is no longer there to fulfill his roll as "greeter" as my guests drive into the yard. His love for people touched many, his gentle nature and massive horns, made many folks smile and laugh. The Silvertine Ranch will never be the same again without him. Zeus was far more than a pet steer, he was a loyal family member. Born in the middle of January, this Watusi calf was taken it to my house and bottle fed, forming a bond with me that was extremely special. He had a very special character,  and was more loyal than most dogs. He would come when you called him, broke to ride and pull a wagon, and was always wanting a scratch on the neck. For his size, he was one of the most gentle creatures you would ever meet. Zeus was the only pet I ever owned that "made money", as he got paid to be in a TV commercial as Paul Bunyan's Blue Ox.  He was easily the most photographed animal on the ranch!

Zeus, your imprint on my life was so very deep. I find myself still looking around wishing you were still here - always in the way, knocking stuff over, or just being there looking at me with your loving brown eyes. I hope you are in greener warmer pastures my beautiful friend. Thank you Zeus for all your unconditional love, you were one of my best friends. I have been truly fortunate and enriched to have been able to share love and life with you for so many years.
