"It's going to tough to top this experince. Steve you are a top shelf guide and first class person. The worlds problems seem a long way away when you are in the environment. This 455" Manitoban elk certainly made the trip. I can't thank you enough for your hospitality. I look forward to seeing you again."
Mr. Palmer, Oregon USA

Manitoban Elk Hunting

The Manitoban Elk is noted for is dark features, long tines, exceptional mass, and impressive tops. This subspecies is a must for the serious collector. Each year we have several bulls that will score into the 400+" class. They have a much larger body size than the Rocky Mountain , and many of the bulls will reach 1200 pound or greater at maturity. The Manitoban Elk is native to Manitoba 's Duck mountain region. The hunting for this sub-species of elk is limited to resident hunters only, and only by drawing a permit, so for a non-resident of Manitoba , to hunt this elk is impossible. We have a small breeding heard of cows that are full blood Manitoban elk, and have been cross bred to the biggest Manitoban X Rocky Mountain bulls. The offspring of the cows are minimum 75% Manitoban, and many of the offspring tend to throw genetically towards the Manitoban antler formation and body size. We are very limited to the number of classic Manitoban bulls we offer to our hunters each fall, and it is recommended that if you want to harvest one of these magnificent rare elk, you need to consider contacting us right away as we can be booked out a year or more in advance.

Special Note: We will provide you with pedigree papers showing the bloodlines of the elk you harvested to show it is a Manitoban elk, with the percentage of breeding promised. But due to the fact that they are not pure breed, entry into the SCI book is be limited to "Estate Elk" as SCI does not recognize it a seperate species. Elk Price's in effect for Manitoban elk because of this reason, and a true trophy Manitoban will start at 350 SCI.
